I'm in the Nerd Business
NEW: Sat, Jul 15, 12:07AM
How do you create and sustain a business that caters to the geek lifestyle without exploiting the very people to whom you provide services? Join this panel of entrepreneurs whose businesses cater to a predominantly nerdy or geeky clientele: Matthew Arevalo (Loot Crate), Audrey Kearns (Geek Girl Authority), Janelle Badali (Badali Jewelry), David Nett (Nerdstrong Gym), and Lauren Matesic (Castle Corsetry). Panelists will discuss how these businesses started, how they sustain their service to their clientele and compete with big conglomerates looking to capitalize on the geek marketplace, and how they sell goods and market services to a community seeking geeky authenticity. Moderated by Brian Ward (The Arkham Sessions, Shout! Factory).
