Tonight, fans will come together to celebrate his beloved performance and the 50+ years that followed with video footage and personal anecdotes. Pogo, Walt Kelly, and Carolyn Kelly
Some call Walt Kelly's Pogo the greatest newspaper strip of all time. This program provides a discussion on Kelly, his legacy, and his lovely daughter, who passed away in April. Topics include the future of the Eisner Award-winning Pogo reprint series from Fantagraphics Books that Carolyn had been co-editing and that will continue to reprint that wonderful feature. On the dais: comic historian Maggie Thompson (Comics Buyer's Guide), film critic Leonard Maltin, cartoonist Scott Shaw!, friend John Plunkett, Fantagraphics's Eric Reynolds (co-editor of the Complete Pogo series), and moderator Mark Evanier (co-editor of the Complete Pogo series).

Bernie Wrightson: Art and Designs for the Gang of Seven Animation Studio
This panel will kick off the premiere (at Comic-Con) of Hermes Press' new book, Bernie Wrightson: Art and Designs for the Gang of Seven Animation Studio. The panel will begin with a video presentation about the late Bernie Wrightson's career and will include examples of his animation drawings and concepts together with never-before-seen animation using Wrightson's work for feature animated film promotionals. Tom Tataranowicz (producer/director of Gang of Seven Animation, Biker Mice from Mars) will lead the discussion of Wrightson's career and enduring legacy with Marv Wolfman (The Tomb of Dracula, Blade), Daniel Herman (publisher of Hermes Press, Silver Age: The Second Generation of Comic Artists), and Mitch Itkowitz (owner of Graphic Collectibles, Jack Kirby Masterworks).

The Centennial of The King of Comics, Jack Kirby
Illustrator and comic book historian Arlen Schumer (The Silver Age of Comic Book Art) marks the centennial of Kirby's birth with a multimedia retrospective about how a first-American generation son of European Jewish immigrants growing up in the Lower East Side of New York City named Ya'akov Kurtzberg became acknowledged by both professionals and fans alike as the single greatest artist and storyteller in the history of comic books, Jack "King" Kirby.
